Day 15 - June 25 - San Francisco-Muir Woods

Day 15 - June 25 - San Francisco-Muir Woods. Today we drove across the big red Bay Bridge. It was real foggy over the whole part we drove. There were also people walking across. Seems like they have people on one side and bikes on the other to cross. Cars drive in the middle.

We drove up a mountain and thru zig-zag roads. Most of the way we could see clouds as they we coming towards the mountain we were on.

The woods looked like an old forest full of tall trees. Some over 250 feet tall. The trees were so tall and looked delicate. Some were burned from fires long time ago. The fires made little caves at the bottom, maybe where a bear could sleep.

When we went back to our car we saw 2 guys who looked suspicious. We though maybe they were parked in such a way to check out cars they might want to steal from. We were lucky we saw nothing happen.

After we went back down the mountain to the city of Saulsalito. Stopped at a wonderful old hardware store. Met a lady outside who had 2 dogs with her. She lived on a boat that needs work and is not fully done. She and her husband were truck drivers living in Colorado, but moved here to see about fixing boats. They helped a doctor who had owned the boat they bought. They told us the plan to drive back to Alaska as they did last year. The trip was 8800 mile on the months drive. Sounds like a good adventure.

We walked around the town and went to an Italian restaurant and had good food. Pizza for me, pasta for Papa. Chicken Marsala for Nana.

When we got back to the hotel, watched the movie - Birdman of Alcatraz. We will be going on boat to visit Alcatraz tomorrow.
