Day 12 - June 22 - San Luis Obispo to Monterey. Yesterday and today, Papa and I were tired. We had 2 night that we got to sleep late and up early. So much to see and do. Today, another 200 mile drive to see the Monterey Aquarium.
Before we left SLO as they call the city, we went to an art shop to get some new pencils for my sketches. Asia and Marek are both good artists. They told me to get some pencils with softer lead that will be darker. We were able to find a store that had everything I needed.
I saw the sign about the earthquake and was worried what might happen if the ground started to shake. Papa said, no problem. So far nothing has happened serous in that area.
We also passes a walking space between 2 of the buildings. The told us it is called "
bubblegum alley." People have been putting their used gum on the walls for years. Some that needed ladders to get that high - maybe 10 feet up. I think there must be a million pieces of gum there all of it laready chewed :-(
Next, we went to the aquarium. It is bigger and nicer than the one in La Jolla we were at last week. Both have very interesting things to see.
Maybe tomorrow after we get to San Francisco, we will have more time to add photos and some videos with maps.
